Default Which one?

Well I used to play WOW but now i'm poor so when I get some money I was thinking of buying GW. I was just wondering if I should buy GW or Gw:Factions or should I wait for GW:Nightfall. From what I've read all three games are stand alone games.

Thx

Please keep in mind that I have never played GW.

I'd say go for Nightfall. And keep in mind that although they can be played as standalones; you can also add them to the same account to allow your existing characters to go through the new content.

Also; even though it doesn't say it on the box the first campaign is refered to as Prophecies.

Definitely wait for Nightfall. From what I've seen from the preview event, you'll be able to learn the basics from NF.

Although I hate to see WoW players come in to Guild Wars merely because they don't have money, and buy Guild Wars as a seconady game to play..... BUY NIGHTFALL! and quit WoW

I'm not saying that this is the case for the OP, but I've noticed a lot of wow players posting here over the past couple days. And then I rememberd a news post I saw the other day about 76,000 WoW accounts being closed. Coincidence?

Oh... I did not know anything about WoW accounts being closed. Sorry about that if it was an insult.

Some of my WoW friends hack, unforuntately, could that be the cause. If anyone remembered from back in D2, the EZhack scandle with B.Net doing it so they could banned thousands of accounts just to make them buy D2 again. Ah well, I'm sorry if this happened to you

Choice #1 - Wait 2 weeks until Nightfall comes out. From what we got from the preview weekend, it's going to be an awesome game. When it does come out, everyone will be flocking to it from Prophecies and factions. So there may not be a lot of people to team up with in those games - but there's always henchmen you can use. The only problem is, we only know about the first little bit of the game, so there may be some unpleasant surprises further on, maybe not.

Choice #2 - Buy Prophecies. It's still a ton of fun and there's still plenty of people playing there - many people bring their characters over from factions to do the missions there. The learning curve is much gentler to people new to GW than factions is.

Choice #3 - Buy factions. factions is designed with a steep learning curve, has a pain-in-the-butt city that you have to spend a whole bunch of time in, and has a horrid story line with even worse voice acting in the cut scenes. On the positive side, Alliance Battles are quite fun and it offers Assassin and Ritualist as professions.

You can always put the chapters together on the same account. This enables you to take your characters from one place to another once you reach the respective port cities.
